RESTON, Va. (May 28, 2021) – SOSi announced today that Joe McReynolds, a China analyst with its Center for Intelligence Research and Analysis, was named a Truman National Security Fellow. Truman Fellows are policy experts, academics, and other thought leaders who anticipate and articulate new global challenges and opportunities.
Founded in 2005, the Truman National Security Project brings together rising leaders interested intaking a progressive approach to U.S. national security that centers human rights and the rule of law. The organization has approximately 2,000 members, with roughly 100 new members admitted each year following a highly competitive application process. Many of the group’s fellows work at U.S. national security agencies, federal and state legislative bodies, and diplomacy and non-governmental organizations.
In addition to his work at CIRA, Mr. McReynolds is the China Security Studies Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation and a co-founder of the China Cyber and Intelligence Studies Institute. He is the lead editor and co-author of China’s Evolving Military Strategy (2016) and the upcoming Chinese Information Warfare (2021). He has expertise in a range of Sino-American national security issues, including China’s technology exfiltration efforts, information warfare operations, defense science and technology development, and I.T. sector civil-military integration.
